• New Hindi GEC Atrangii to launch today

    A new Hindi general entertainment channel, Atrangii, will be launched today. Backed by Vibhu Agarwal, the channel will feature programming line-up from 7PM in the evening to 11.30PM at night.
  • Chrome LIVE Wk 21: English Movies genre emerges as the top gainer with 12.32 pc growth

    According to Chrome LIVE Week 21’22 data , English Movies genre became the top gainers of the week as it grew by 12.32 pc. In this genre, Movies Now channel gained the highest OTS with 54.1 pc in 6 Metros. 

     

    English GEC Genre claimed the second position and grew by 11.13 pc in 6 Metros. The Q secured the highest OTS with 45.4 pc. 



     
  • MIB to monitor output feed of cable ops

    The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has directed cable operators to install monitoring devices on their headends in order to allow Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Limited (BECIL) officials to monitor their output feed. The advisory has been issued under the provision of Sub-Section 4 of Section 10A of the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act, 1995.

    Prasar Bharati has announced the addition of WNBA and NBA G League programming to its daily basketball offering on Doordarshan (DD) Sports.

    The WNBA and NBA G League programming will be added to DD Sports’ twice daily basketball slots every morning (7 am – 9 am) and evening (7 pm – 9 pm).

    In Week 18 of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India Data Report, Sun TV maintained its top spot with 2432.91 (000) AMA in the across genre category followed by Star Maa at 2nd spot with 2214.36 (000) AMA. Star Sports 1 Hindi shifted one spot up and stood at 3rd position with 2201.09 (000) AMA. Star Plus dropped one spot down and stood at 4th position with 2062.15 (000) AMA. Goldmines retained its 5th spot with 1818.05 (000) AMA. Sony Sab took a leap from 8th spot to 6th spot with 1587.94 (000) AMA compared to last week. Dangal retained its 7th spot with 1575.7 (000) AMA. Star Vijay dropped from 6th spot to 8th spot with 1570.64 (000) AMA. Zee Kannada shifted one spot up and claimed the 9th spot with 1402.78 (000) AMA. Zee Telugu was the new entrant in the chart with 1343.98 (000) AMA and claimed the 10th spot.

    In the South channel category in Week 18 of BARC data, the positions in the chart remained unchanged compared to last week. Sun TV maintained its lead with 2423.56 (000) AMA followed by Star Maa with 2171.32 (000) AMA at the 2nd spot and Star Vijay with 1565.71 (000) AMA at 3rd spot. Zee Kannada retained its 4th spot with 1390.85 (000) AMA followed by Zee Telugu with 1327.19 AMA at the 5th spot.
