    MUMBAI: The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) has directed Antrix Corporation to resume signals to direct to home (DTH) operator Reliance Big TV after the latter cleared the Rs 6 crore pending dues.

  • Govt can't put chip in set-top-box without consumer's consent

    The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) last month wrote to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) proposing it to ask “DTH operators to install a chip in the new set-top-boxes which can give data about channels watched and their duration”.  The proposal was widely discussed in the media as it was perceived by many as a move by the government to “spy” on people.

  • Reliance Big TV clears dues to Antrix; to resume service shortly

    MUMBAI: Direct-to-home (DTH) operator Reliance Big TV (RBTV) today settled its dues of Rs 28 crore to Antrix Corporation (Antrix) thereby ensuring the immediate resumption of services.  The court, which has released the order, has asked Antrix to RBTV’s reinstate services today, according to Pantel Technologies MD Vijender Singh.

    MUMBAI: The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) has directed multi system operator (MSO) Asianet Satellite Communication to enter into a written interconnect agreement with Star India either on reference interconnect offer (RIO) or mutually agreed terms within 30 days.

  • Tata Sky to discontinue 27 channels from its platform

    MUMBAI: Direct to home (DTH) operator Tata Sky has said that it will discontinue 27 channels from its platform with effect from 12 April.

    The DTH operator said that it will discontinue 22 channels for outstanding payments. These include Adhytam, B4U Music, B4U Movies, Bflix Movies, Disha News Channel, GSTV, NewsX, India News, India News Haryana, India News Madhya Pradesh-Chattisgarh, India News UP/Uttarakhand, India News Rajasthan, Jai Maharashtra, K News India, Mastii, News 7, Music India, News India 24×7, NHK World TV, Ok India, Paras TV, Puthiya Thalaimurai, Shop CJ and Suddhi TV.
