• DD Freedish MPEG-2 e-auctions: 17 channels secure slots on Day-1

    17 channels across GEC, Movies, Music and Devotional genres secured a slot each on DD Freedish as the first round of bidding concluded on day one of e-auction for MPEG-2 slots. The successful bidders will get a slot on the government-owned free DTH service for the period of one year starting April 1, 2022, to March 31, 2023.

    Malayalam news channel MediaOne has moved the Supreme Court against Kerala High Court’s order which upheld the ban on the channel.

    Earlier on Wednesday, the Kerala HC had dismissed the channel’s plea against a single judge order which upheld a ban on the channel by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

    In Week 7 of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India, Sun TV regained its top spot in the across genre category with 2543.31 (000) AMA. Star Maa slipped to the second spot with 2392.09 (000) AMA. Star Plus shifted one spot up and claimed the 3rd position with 2244.78 (000) AMA. Star Utsav slipped two spots down and stood at 4th position with 2243.28(000) AMA as compared to week 6. Dhinchaak retained its 5th spot with 1784.54 (000) AMA. Zee TV with 1692.82 (000) AMA and Star Vijay with 1585.94 (000) AMA exchanged their positions and claimed the 6th and 7th spot respectively. Sony Palshifted one spot up and stood at the 8th position with 1517.04(000) AMA. Star Jalsha dropped from 8th spot to 9th spot with 1478.66 (000) AMA. Sony Sab retained its 10th spot with 1453.47 (000) AMA.
