MUMBAI: Viacom18’s Bengali GEC Colors Bangla is planning to expand its programming hours with new show launches in the early and late prime time slots.
The channel is currently on the drawing board and the expansion of programming hours will take place in coming months. Currently, the channel has almost four hours of original programming. The prime-time starts at 6 pm and ends at 10 pm.
Sony Entertainment Television (SET) is back with its quiz show Dus Ka Dum (DKD) after nine long years. Produced by Big Synergy, this new season of Dus Ka Dum boasts of an all-new format re-designed and developed by the in-house creative team of SET and Sony Pictures Television, UK.

Colors Bangla will air “Ke Hobe Banglar Kotipoti” – the Bengali version of the popular quiz game show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC).
Produced by Big Synergy Media Limited, this game show is also popular around the globe as ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’ and is fondly known in India as KBC. Its Bangla version will premiere on 16 July 2018, every Monday to Friday at 9.00 pm on Colors Bangla.
MUMBAI: Insight Media City, the owner of Malayalam GEC Flowers TV, is planning to launch a Malayalam news channel ’24’ in H1 Fy19.
The company has also planned a Capex of Rs 166 crore over the next three years for expansion. The Capex is expected to be funded through equity of Rs. 74 crore and debt of Rs. 92 crore.
MUMBAI: Viacom18 is launching fresh content for its regional entertainment channel Colors Bangla and Colors Super, its second Kannada GEC.
While Colors Kannada and Colors Super together account for over 40% of the market share, Colors Bangla, on the other hand, is a distant third in the Bangla market after Star Jalsha and Zee Bangla.
