    Last month, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) promoted Ashish Sehgal (former Chief Operating Officer of ZEE Unimedia) to the position of Chief Growth Officer, ZEEL. The change of designation came following the dissolution of Zee Unimedia, a vertical that was set up by the broadcast network in 2016 to boost ad sales monetisation.

  • TRAI asks SC to set aside Madras HC decision to quash 15% discount clause

    MUMBAI: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has moved the Supreme Court seeking the quashing of Madras High Court judgement and order dated 2 March 2018 and 23 May 2018 that held the 15% cap on the discount of MRP of a bouquet as arbitrary and not enforceable.

  • TRAI extends deadlines for comments on OTT consultation paper

    MUMBAI: India’s telecom and broadcast regulator TRAI released a new consultation paper last month on OTT services seeking to expand the definition of the sector and also the regulator’s jurisdiction over a sector till now “unregulated”. The deadline for receiving comments on the consultation paper has been extended up to 7 January 2019 and counter comments by 21 January.
