The continued uncertainty over the implementation of the TRAI New Tariff Order (NTO), the number of consumers migrated and the channel selections made by them, had the Indian Society of Advertisers (ISA) Executive Council issue an advisory saying that the viewership data from the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India during the transition period should not be used for media planning, evaluation and buying perspectives.

Hindustan Lever Ltd. bagged the top slot in Top 10 brand list of the Broadcast Audience Research Council India (BARC) Week 5 data with 115998 insertions. Reckitt Benckiser India maintained their second spot with 60043 insertions. ITC Ltd held onto their third spot with 38255 insertions. Cadbury India Ltd which was in the fifth spot last week finished fourth with 29135 insertions, followed by SmithKline Beecham with 22506 insertions.

The local cable operators (LCO) have been demonstrating against it all across the country. There have been cable TV blackouts in various markets against the proposed revenue sharing model between Multi-Service Operators (MSOs) and the LCOs.

MUMBAI: Managing director of Dish TV Jawahar Goel, on Wednesday, allayed fears of consumers, saying there was no question of cable and DTH prices increasing due to the TRAI tariff order. According to him, there has been a reduction in the bills of consumers who have moved to the new regime.

MUMBAI: 21st Century Fox (Fox) reported strong second-quarter earnings even at a time when Disney is all set to take over a major part of the Murdoch empire. The company reported total quarterly revenues of $8.5 billion matching analysts’ estimates. Fox also added that it anticipates the transactions regarding the acquisition by Disney closing in the first half of calendar 2019.

MUMBAI: Telecom and DTH operator major Airtel has been served a show-cause notice by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) over issues of blackout faced by some Airtel Digital TV subscribers during transition to the new tariff regime, a report by news agency IANS said.
