MUMBAI: The Broadcasters Audience Research Council (BARC) India has submitted its counter-comments in response to comments submitted by various stakeholders on the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (TRAI) consultation paper ‘Review of Television Audience Measurement and Ratings in India’.
In its counter comment, BARC India observed that some submissions are identical and motivated against the interest and functioning of BARC India.

Over the past 23 months since its launch, the channel lost is numero uno private English news channel label only once to Goswami’s former channel Times Now, that was for one week – week 31 of 2018.

MUMBAI: MRUC today released its IRS Q1 2019 data. The Q1 2019 Report is a Moving Annual Total, combining Q2+Q3+Q4 data of IRS 2017 and Q1 fieldwork of IRS 2019, which began in December 2018 and successfully completed in Q1 2019. The reporting sample size for this release is 3.24 lakh households.

MUMBAI: In the Bengali market, Sony Aath and Aakash Aath swapped their fourth and fifth positions respectively in BARC data week 16. No changes were observed in Bhojpuri, Tamil and Telugu segment. Udaya Movies and Star Suvarna interchanged their fourth and fifth positions in the Kannada space. In the fifth position, Asianet Movies emerged as the new player by replacing Kochu TV in the Malayalam market. In the Marathi space, Zee Marathi and Fakt Marathi interchanged their first and second positions respectively.

BENGALURU: Four channels – two Hindi GECs and one channel each from the Tamil and the Telugu genres from the Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (Zeel) stable were amongst the 10 most watched channels across genres in week 16 of 2019 as per Broadcast Audience Research Council of India (BARC) data. Besides Zeel, there were three channels from Star India and one channel each from Enterr 10 Television, Sun TV Network and Viacom18 in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 channels across genres. From the genres perspective, there were five Hindi GECs, two channels each from Tamil and Telugu and one channel from the sports genres in week 16 of 2019 (Saturday, 13 April 2019 to Friday, 19 April 2019, week or period under consideration or review).
