MUMBAI: Public broadcaster Prasar Bharati has amended its policy guidelines for allotment of slots of its free direct to home (DTH) platform DD Free Dish.
As part of the amendments, the public broadcaster has done away with Bucket A which included Hindi movie channels.
It has expanded Bucket B by adding the teleshopping (Hindi) to the existing list of genres including All Music (Hindi) Channels, Sports (Hindi) Channels, Movies (Bhojpuri), and GEC (Bhojpuri).
Teleshopping genre was earlier part of Bucket A+ which has a reserve price of Rs 15 crore. The Bucket B has a reserve price of Rs 10 crore while Bucket A had a reserve price of Rs 12 crore.
MUMBAI: Netflix has always shown supremacy in content quality. After entering the Indian market in 2016, the Reed Hastings-led streaming service has created several high-quality originals including Sacred Games, Bard of Blood, Leila, Delhi Crime and Lust Stories. While emphasising on writing, direction, production, Netflix is not overlooking the oft-ignored segment in the industry - post-production. Currently, the over-the-top (OTT) platform is in the process of expanding its post-production team and growing the infrastructure.
“There have been some very big shifts in the industry and how we look at post-production. In the film days it was that transition going from black and white to colour. After that, we went digital from film. That was the next big shift. Now we are completely almost 99 per cent in the digital space. And that next big shift is going from making feature films to episodic series of higher production value,” Netflix India post-production director Vijay Venkataramanan said in a recent interaction with Indiantelevision.com.
English Entertainment channel Star World premiered Season 2 of TED Talks India: Nayi Soch, a showcase of videos by inspiring speakers designed especially for the Indian audiences that reflect the issues affecting India and the world. The season started on November 2 at 9:30 pm and will air every Saturday and Sunday at the same time.

Star India’s Bengali general entertainment channel Star Jalsha will delve into the genre of horror-comedy with ‘Chuni Panna’. A slice of life show, Chuni Panna will depict an unlikely friendship that blossoms between a human and a ghost. The story will explore the ups and downs of a very unique friendship where we see a human and a ghost fulfilling each other’s wishes.
Chuni Panna will be on air from November 11, Monday-Sunday, at 10.30 pm only on Star Jalsha SD and Star Jalsha HD.
Star India’s Telugu entertainment channel Star Maa is coming up with Telugu fiction titled ‘Amekatha’. It will air on Star Maa from November 4, daily at 10 pm. It is Ambani-led Reliance Big Synergy’s first Telugu fiction series.
Starring Bigg Boss Telugu’s Ravi Krishna with television stars Navya and Shrisha in pivotal roles, Amekatha is a thriller. Set up in contemporary period, the series will showcase the quest of the female protagonist to unravel the truth in the sea of lies and deceit.
